We have spent the past couple of months analyzing how we could bring Liquid Notes in a plug-in-like implementation to you. Today we are happy to announce that we have found a way to adapt Max for Live to have Liquid Notes run as a MIDI effect.
Here is our call for beta testers of Liquid Notes for Live.
MIDI effect: Liquid Notes for Live
Liquid Notes for Live is a MIDI effect for Ableton Live 9. We made use of Cycling '74's communication standard Max for Live, which enables us to run Liquid Notes in a plug-in-like manner: you can now get MIDI clips out of Live on the click of a button only, which is a much improved workflow over the export/import feature of the standalone version of Liquid Notes. However, for importing of your changes to Live the same procedure applies as with the standalone version as we cannot access note data directly in the DAW.
All other features used for making changes to the harmonic progression of your song remain equal to the standalone version, while auto-routing and others is eliminated as we are using an entirely different communications architecture to interface with the DAW.
Bottom line is that you get a much improved experience that is more fluid / interactive. For more fun when you 'work out' with Liquid Notes.
